The right perfume will add to your little one’s charm, and there are quite a few options for you to choose from these days. However, you do have to keep a few things in mind when you buy a fragrance for your child
What to consider when buying babies or toddlers perfumes
You should select floral scents that have notes of rose, freesia, peony, water lily, mandarin, and bergamot. Bubblegum scents are very popular with kids as are fruit aromas because they strike a very playful note. Therefore look for a perfume that has hints of vanilla, coconut, pineapple and citrus because they are also good for kids. Sandalwood and musk will not suit a child very much because they are too strong and overpowering.
Avoid alcoholic fragrance
Fragrances with alcohol are likely to harm your baby’s skin. Choose a perfume that is hypoallergenic in nature and can keep the skin moisturized. Your child’s skin is very delicate and needs the appropriate care.
Even if you are going for floral perfumes, ensure it has a light smell and not strong. The child should have a faint aura of perfume around her instead of being covered in a cloud of it.
Cheap but quality
Kids are notorious for changing their minds so you should settle for something cheaper but quality. Also, if your toddler or baby reacts badly to the perfume, you do not have to worry about losing a lot of money. Alternately, you could buy a small bottle of a costly scent if you want to buy it.
If your child is old enough to have an opinion on the matter, then it is a good idea to ask her to help you choose a scent for her. Keep in mind, however, that kids tend to get carried away by the packaging of the product, especially if it has their favorite cartoon or film character and may insist on a particular product. Be especially careful when buying a perfume for someone else’s child because many people do not want their kids to wear fragrances until a certain age.
Sample before buying any fragrances
Many fragrances can be misleading due to their names so you should do proper sampling before buying. You do not want what to but a product that is meant for a man instead of a kid. If the name of the fragrance is misleading, imagine how the store owners feel when confronted with this thought from customers.
Your baby needs to have some unique smell to improve their charm. Be very careful when choosing a perfume for your baby to help achieve this.
